Halloween Ideas Costumes

(1) Start with our preschool toddler. We don't want the little boy to be sobbing and miserable, but we can still add a bit of a Bozo touch with some red circles on the cheeks. While we're at it, just a pair of red-paint finger strokes next to the lips extend the clown's wide grin. Add a clownish-looking bonnet and some bright colored overalls, and some woolly donut-hole type pom pons near the toes of the shoes.

(2) Our daughter is in early elementary school. Take an old mop top and dye it red, and use an eyebrow pencil to put exaggerated freckles on her white-painted face. We'll dredge up an old Little Orphan Annie type of cotton dress, with leggings worn underneath and shiny saddle shoes.

(3) Our son is in junior high, and he's into watching old TV shows and movies on cable. He's going to dress like a 1940s vintage professoinal, replete with fedora hat, rumpled overcoat, neckie loosened at the collar, loose slacks, wingtip shoes, maybe even a (fake) cigar in his teeth. But under that fedora brim, he will feature a painted face with octoganal designs to emphasize his bright and beaming eyes.

(4 and 5) How about Mom and Dad? Well, we want the public to know that these children are legitimately our own, so our cheap Halloween family costumes will be similar to those assembled for our daughter and elder son.

We'll be clowns this Halloween and we'll be able to smile like the happiest of clowns, because we'll be saving so much money with our cheap Halloween family costumes.
